3 mo and 100 days

it's been awhile...it's been busy to say the least. he's growing so fast, and time is going by so quickly. he's 3 months as of sunday and his 100 days is this monday. 100 days is an important thing in korea, since most babies long ago didn't survive that long. we are having a bbq here at our house, even though i wanted to do it at a park. i guess this is easier since we have small ac units incase the heat gets to 103 again like it was all weekend. well, here is the little munchkin!!

this ones from 6 weeks old.

almost 2mo.

Jay is almost 2 months old (thursday is the big day). and he's so much more amazing then he was when we brought him home. he's been able to stand a little since 6 weeks, but now he can stand for longer and does it more often. he isn't a big fan of tummy time, but we're still working on that, although he's been able to lift his head on his own since he was born basically. our next appointment is the 28th, and i'll be able to find out how much bigger he is. we finally finished off the diaper cake too so we're on to the cloth diapers now. they fit so big, but they work pretty well. it's just a little harder to tell when they are full, i guess i can't change him too often!!

6 weeks

we took our first trip to big bear, and he did great in the car and up there. this picture was taken up there, and i used the sun to get the great lighting look. he's now sleeping 4 hrs straight a night (almost ever night). then getting up every 2 hrs, so i'm getting a little more sleep.

One month

my little boy is one month old now. i've had some frustrating nights/days when he has trouble sleeping for a few hours and ends up taking longer to put him to sleep, but other then that, everything seems to be going well. once i'm all healed up, breastfeeding should be easier as well. he is amazing and big. everyone keeps telling me he looks like a 2-3 month old already. he is wearing his 3-6 mo. onsies and those are even getting too small now. he's up and eating every 1-2 hrs. he's slept for 3 hrs a few times, but that's rare...

can't wait for him to get older so i can play with him more.

here he is:

dog training...

saturday we paid someone a pretty good amount of money to come out and tell us what we need to do in order to calm our dog down for walks and vet trips. the guy that i found used to work w/ Cesar Milan (the dog whisperer). he was over for about 3 hrs giving us his interpretation of what we need to do. first he started with greetings. how we should treat her greeting us when we come home. well.....she is calm when we come home, so i just kept my mouth shut. when he first met her, she was a bit subdued, and that's how she always is with people she's never met before. she approaches them slowly and smells, when it's someone she knows that is when she gets overly excited.

next he wanted to see how we feed her. i guess it's a way to distinguish dominance in the household. we would in theory keep her off her food until she gives up then we "invite" her to eat it. when he did this little part she was getting aggressive. biting and growling at him. which was making me very nervous. which i'm sure didn't help the situation. when hubby and i fed her the next day trying to instill the same things the dog guy did, we didn't get anything near the same reaction. i blocked her from her food and she didn't care, she just looked at me.

after that, it made me feel like the dog guys approach, and being a stranger made her appear more aggressive or dominant then she really is, which in turn just worried me more then i really needed to be. we have control over her, that's not the issue. the issue is how she reacts to other dogs while out for a walk or at the vets office. which he did help to show us how to control.

i wish it would have been more of "i'll tell you what to do, then i want to see you do it and what happens when you do". that would have made me feel much better about the situation and getting a real reaction from her. when we feed her she doesn't constantly try and go after her food like she was with him. the whole thing really confused me.

i know she needs to walk, and get exercise and with this being my last week of work hopefully i can start taking her out for walks. we did learn something from him and we did get reassured that we do handle things correctly, but i can't help to feel like it was a waste of money. a book could have given me the same results......
